Kelsi's Quilt, Graduation, Feelings and more

Image
I have been busy with work. We had the graduation of my preschoolers it was a beautiful celebration. Our trainer read the book: The kissing hand. This is a story about a little raccoon ready to start school. He talks about his fears to his mother, fears that most children have before beginning school. His mother comes up with a wonderful solution to help her little raccoon remember that she loves him and is thinking about him, even when she isn't with him. A wonderful and heart-warming story to share with little ones. In the middle of all the songs, stories and thank you's a little boy asks me for my hand and kisses the inside of my hand, and said whenever you feel lonely just put your hand to your face and you know I love you! Just like in the story. I bursted into tears, he asked: Why are you crying are you sad? I told him no you just gave me the best gift of all. Other then that I have been finishing Kelsi's Quilt. Boy am I happy since it has been a pain in the backside,...

Yeah me, yeah my boys

I am on my way to work as we speak, I should have already cleaned the van out. I worked late last night and brought work home with me. We have graduation tomorrow, 25 children that will go on to Kindergarten, it will break my heart. And then after the summer we will start all over. We will get 25 new children, 25 new little faces, 25 children that have to get used to the new rules and 25 children that will realize that day care and preschool is something different. I just hope I taught my children enough to make it in Kindergarten. On the other hand, my teenager are home for the summer too... so what comes on the minute I am gone, the stupid xbox, I am thankful for summer school which both of them will be in. One because he failed two classes, the other one because he wants to get certain subjects out of the way for his senior year! On other hand, my oldest has a job now. He works hard in an ice plant but he loves it. He says his coworkers and his boss are awesome and very very nice!!!...

Mia and my morning

Image
First thing every morning is...letting Mia out. Not a problem you say....well get this, there once was a rabbit and Mia saw it...Mia is a labradoodle, both of her parents are hunting dogs and this morning her instinct kicked in ................ SHE TOOK OFF. My son takes her collar off every night and sure enough she didn't have it on this morning. So here I am at 6 am outside in my PJ's trying to find my dear dog, getting more upset by the minute!! After 20 minutes I gave up, I had kids to wake up for school and work, so I went home and guess who was sitting in the house looking at me sideways with a look on her face like...What is wrong with you, where you looking for me? Our dog MIA and she was smiling at me!!! Gotta love her! I better get in gear now and finish the rag quilt for my stepdaughter for her birthday, I will post pictures tonight!! Until then world, remember don't take life for granted it was a gift to you!

Trouble with the sewing machine

I am not a happy camper today!! First of all I am constantly breaking my sewing needles, and to top it all of...my foot pedal seems to die slowly but surely. We are talking about a 2000$ expensive sewing machine and after 3 years the foot pedal breaks? I don't think so! So I guess I will call Bernina and will complain! Sorry world this is so short, remember life is grant!! Until next time world

Amelie's Quilt, life and so on

Image
Boy what I day, I'm sitting here yawning. It is late, my oldest is in bed, listening to an audiobook, my youngest is still out here with me, watching a some show about survival. I should be cutting the angels out, I think I will do that when I go to bed! The day has been very productive, I got most of Amelie's Quilt front done!! Lots of work, ironing and sewing, but I enjoyed every moment. It is so much fun to play with the fabric squares, to figure out how you want them, but my biggest thing is ...I AM STILL MISSING ONE FABRIC. My youngest has been fever free for two days, I hope it stays that way! The time of my husband being gone hasn't always been easy, but then on the other hand I am a survivar. Nobody ever said life is easy, but I had two wonderful parents that made sure that I knew about life and the challenges that lay ahead without making me face the world to early! Maybe I should get back to cutting the Angels WHAT DO YOU THINK? Just remember life is grant, liv...

Amelie's Quilt

Image
I finally started yesterday... What you are asking yourself? Amelie's Quilt My niece loves Angels, I was on a quest to find angels on material but that wasn't as easy, but I found a british fabric which had fairies on it. It took me nearly a year to get the material I wanted. And in between I acutally found some Angel fabric also. So the Idea formed a two sided quilt, yeah like I don't have enough to do right? But who cares I fell in love with the fabric and the idea!!! I went on and I found this poem, a lovely one, one that describes why my nieces loves angels so much. The Angels May angels rest beside your door, May you hear their voices sing. May you feel their loving care for you, May you hear their peace bells ring. May angels always care for you, And not let you trip and fall, May they bear you up on angel's wings, May they keep you standing tall. May they whisper wisdom in your ear, May they touch you when you need, May they remove from you each trace of fe...

Good morning world

Can you believe it, it is Sunday morning, we are still at home. My dear son is still sleeping which is good when you have the flu and I have been debating if I should sew or write? Well I guess the writing part has won. Actually I have been looking at some of my quilting pictures and I thought it would be nice if I share them with you a little bit. Last night I finished one part of the Diego Diaper Bag... don't have pictures yet but I will soon I promise!! Next project after that is a two side quilt, one side has garden fairies and the other side will have angels. You are asking yourself who want's this? My niece and it took me forever to find the material I wanted for that project. Then I have 4 more quilts lined up just be patient!!! And don't worry you will see them. What will I do today? Tend to a sick child and sew, maybe I am going to read a romance novel outside while toasting in the sun. Oh I wish we could go somewhere, but we can't!!! Life is grant, accept the...

Next Chapter:" what else can go wrong while hubby is deployed"

well guess what here i am again..missing in action...but like always I have a good excuse. I had to write a chapter in my personal book called" what else can go wrong while hubby is deployed"my dear youngest son woke up with a fewer yesterday, my thinking was stay home you might have a cold and with your diabetes that doesn't go well...then I got this phonecall you know that there are confirmed cases of swineflu in the school he is in ...hey not a problem either you call the pediatrians and tell her...she says come in...next thing is go to the hospital and by the end of the day we knew that he has the flu..type A positive...just what we needed? First thing was mom i dont want to die...i told him that isn't going to happend because i am a pain and im here to stay a pain in your life for a while....so don't you worry you will be just fine!!! But you know what...it is frustrating...two years ago he was diagnosed with Diabetes Type 1 and it just seems that he yells he...

In love with this fabric or am I?

Good morning, as I sit here this morning eating breakfast Im looking outside into the sun and I started dreaming. What would I do if I had a enough money to at least buy the material I want? I would have a ball!!! This last week I got this fabric, Seattle Bay poppy flower. I got it for my mom's quilt I am making. The texture and the pictures of the poppies ( my mom's favorite flower) where awesome. I am asking myself though, how do they do it? Those flowers look so real! On the other hand there is so much fabric out there that is beautiful, like Kaffe Fassett, well not all of it some of it is ugly, some of it georgous. Could you imagine how my gerage would look? Well I do have a barn, that if Ty from extreme homemake over ever comes here I would like to show him!! I actually would like to tell him our story, no it's not heartwrenching but interesting. I came into this country because of my husband, I have all my family in Europe! And now he is gone for a year! We got screwe...

Life in General

Did you ever ask yourself, why things always go wrong when your husband is on a deployment? Well being a military wife is so much fun, I really don't know where to being? The long hours of work, or the fact that they are gone for a year..home for 8 to 12 months and then gone again? Or is it the fact, that their bodies and minds are getting used up? I could rave about it but I don't want too? It doesn't change anything and it doesn't change my lifestyle. My husband does it because he believes in it and I will always support him! But this time around I surely got broadside of it!!! He left in February, not a problem I thought, I raised the kids by myself anyway most of the time. But not even a week after he left I got seriously sick: ending up four 4 later with pneumonia. While I was in bed and out of work, the weather decided to play a nice trick on your house, and decided to leave us with wind damage of ...$13000...yeah me I felt like London Tipton!! We both this house ...
